Simone with the Duck

Lulu on Point

When a dog is hunting with their human owner for duck and quail and deer, they are taught to go "on point" when they see prey ready to be hunted. If they are an actual pointer dog, they will literally pick up their paw and point and stiffen their whole body up.

Well, this is Koofoo (Lulu) on point! She and the gang have been hunting a large moth for the last fifteen minutes so she is all hopped up and ready to hunt!

The New Duvee Box

As we have discussed before, CATS LOVE BOXES!

So every new item that comes in a box can also double as new turf, new territory for the gatos to explore and of course fight over!

Simone and Lulu fought back and forth about who could be inside this box, while Felix just sat on the side and chewed on the tape.

Can you tell me which one is Lulu and which one is Simone?????

A day in the life

Michigan Street gatos, doing what they do best!

Felix is scrounging for food and waiting for any action that may indicate it is time to eat dinner.

Simone is looking cute and thinking about her next heist.

Lulu is toying with danger, playing fiercly with an unstable object 50 times her size!

Melted Cheese

Cats are really funny. They often sleep so hard they sleep themselves right out of their bed! Look at this one Jimmy calls melted cheese. This is little Lulu getting way too into her sleep! She finally woke up when she fell completely out of her bed!

Fire it up!

We have had some really cold days this winter so far and although Jimmy works from home he stubbornly refuses to heat the whole house all day long. So we pull in the little radiator and warm the office.

Looks like the cats don't mind at all!

An Idea for a New Cat Tree

The first night on our new and bigger mattress Jimmy couldn't sleep so he kept thinking about how much fun those cats had scampering up the mattress. He devised a plan: take a long piece of wood and put seisel (the stuff the cats like to claw on) all around it and then mount it subtly to the side of the built in shelves.

What do you think?

Lulu took to it without hesitation. She climbs right up and then looks down on the rest of us from far above.

Doesn't she look cute? She loves it up there, although she hasn't quite figured out how to get down.

Cats can climb super high but they don't always know how to get down. That's why sometimes they get stuck in trees and the firefighters have to come rescue them!

New mattress

Who would have thought getting a new mattress would provide new challenges and entertainment to the black radishes? Well, take a look.

We flipped the old mattress up on its side in order to put the new one in. No sooner had the mattress put put upright against the wall and little Lulu scamped right up it all the way to the top! She strutted around at the top as Simone brewed and schemed on the bottom.

Finally, when she could not stand it any longer Simone clawed right up the mattress herself! Here is a picture of them after they scrapped over the top of the mattress.

Of course Felix had to just look on with jealousy - since he doesn't have any front claws he can't scuttle up something verticle like that. He was finally content to just rub his paws on the bottom markiing it with his scent!
