Maxine Gives Back to the Community
Maxine is wearing her new kerchief from Interfaith Ministries where she volunteers for their program AniMEALS. She delivers dog food to families that have a hard time covering the cost of the food themselves. It keeps those dogs from becoming homeless and it lets the families keep their precious pets. Her route is every fourth Saturday.
AniMEALS is a small program within the Houston Meals on Wheels program, which Maxine also does every third Saturday. You can read more about it at http://www.imgh.org/seniorservices.htm. Doesn't she look cute looking out at the dogs she is bringing food to?
We will get to know the dogs more as we continue to do the route, but for now here are a few pictures of the dogs we are delivering to. They were all excited to see Maxine! Which one is your favorite?
