We love you Cody!

Obituary for Friend and Fellow Canine Companion Cody, written by Toby Fullmer:

With a tear in my eye, I report that my sweet “pup dog” has passed. We put him to rest this morning after several days of worsening immobility, increased seizures, and general misery associated with his darn old age. By my count, he would have been 16 years young on November 22. My college roommate, law school study partner, ring bearer at the wedding, playmate for my boys.

Though some won’t believe it, I think he was holding out until the time came that a Democrat re-took the White House and the party dominated Harris County politics and races.

Sickles

No, this post is NOT about Simone or SIckman as she is commonly referred but about Lulu. Can you see those daggers on her paws??? They look just like sickles! Sharp, massive and curved ready to do some damage! Go Koof!

Feather Tickler

The whole thing started with Simone not wanting Lulu on the corner of the dog bed. Or, from another perspective, of Lulu wanting the corner of the dog bed and stubbornly defending it. See the big black tufts of hair? That is where Sicky was just attacking her, trying to push her off the bed.

Simone also played with the red feathers, for quite some time. She got so excited in the middle of playing she raced up and down the bookshelf scratch post. Then she had to wind her way back down.

Felix even got in on the fun, but of coarse he had to do it "nerd style" and end up acting like a nut ball. He got long stretched out on the middle of the floor and then tilted his head back and started moving his jaw like he was snapping at the feathers. Really strange!

Max is Back

Max and I watched the election together last night! We curled up and she got a whole lot of pets and love. She actually slept with me part of the night (when the cats weren't driving her crazy). She was licking a little cut she got while at Marley's . . . . chasing a squirrel!!!!! And it sounds like from the story she actually got a little piece of squirrel fur from the encounter. She must have been so thrilled!

Sicky Sickerman! She was staring at Felix acting like his usual freakish self. He is yowling and howling and carrying on. I think he drove BJ, who was watching them while we were gone, a little bit crazy. He has a pretty intense and slightly annoying personality!

Simone tolerates it well! She will most likely pounce on him as soon as she gets tired of his carrying on!

The weather is changing a bit and when I was home between Japan and San Francisco I took out the radiator to toast up the room. Here, the radiator is clearly not on (its not plugged in!) but Lulu just loves this little spot. Hopefully it will start to get chilly again.

Sleeping Beauties

Maxine spent the last four days with her friend Marley. Do you remember awhile back when she jumped through a window? Well, just before Max was scheduled to go stay over there Marley did it again! She had to go to the vet, get the glass out and then of coarse had to wear the E-collar so she wouldn't lick the wounds. I am sure they played a lot less than they normally would have, but as you can see they made up for it in team sleeping! Max's favorite thing to do anyway!
