Felix to the Vet

Felix had to go to the vet again this week. He had a return of the crystals but we caught it early enough that he didn't have to be hospitalized! That was quite a relief. It is painful and uncomfortable though and he has to be on special food that has medication in it.

These pictures are of three cats that were at the vet trying to get adopted. The two black cats are two little boys, litter mates and having a blast in their cage together. The other little one is a girl and she is very sweet. She and Jimmy bonded while we were at the vet.

They said if they didn't get adopted this week they would have to go back to the woman who found them. I hope they get adopted!

Salmon Oil

Jimmy bought the animals some salmon oil, it comes in a pump and is sold specifically for pets. We thought the cats would go crazy! Here we tried to entice Felix . . . he would not even try it!

So we looked for Simone - she will eat anything, right? She wouldn't even try it either!

Who do you think ended up gobbling up the whole spoon full?

MAXINE!

A Walk at the Arboretum

We snuck in a quick walk before the rain started to drizzle. We stopped for this photo and each got about five mosquito bites! So we just kept on walking, no stopping!

Got the Sun Patch!

Remnants of a Sunpatch

I was sweeping the floor and stumbled upon Simone hanging off the bench. You can see the sun patch on the floor which was probably keeping her warm just an hour ago. She is longingly looking at the disappearing sun patch with sadness. So funny!

Shrimp

Max at our NEW farmer's market. There are about four vendors but we had to leave our old market because MAXINE got us kicked out! Jimmy took Maxine to the farmers market a few weeks back when I was taking a class and they told him they had a new policy NO DOGS ALLOWED. Apparently they are serving prepared food there now and that means you can no longer have animals in the vicinity. Outraged, Jimmy vowed to never return to that market again! So we have started going to a new one out by Rice Village. There is one vegetable vendor so we are kind of at the mercy of his stash, but we have had some great beans, peppers, green onions and eggplant from him so it seems to be working out for us. Hopefully Maxine doesn't get us kicked out of this one!

Guilty as Charged!

Date: November 5, 2009
Charges: Unauthorized and excessive digging
Plea: Guilty

Single, brindled female approximately 6 years old (42 in dog years) was arrested on November 5, 2009 after officer witnessed her digging in unauthorized spaces.
Not only was she unauthorized, she was digging excessively and with reckless abandon despite the presence of one uniformed officer. Officer arrived at the residence at 1600 hours to find an extremely excitable dog apparently in urgent need of "play."
Officer had to take off her heels and put on more play suitable foot wear and when she arrived back in the yard, Maxine had begun to dug yet another hole. Suspect caught in action. Attached photos are supplemental support of charges. The yard is decimated. The crime is intolerable.

Verdict: GUILTY

Felix Goes to Nashville

Felix jumped in Jimmy's suitcase as he prepared for his trip to Nashville. I think Felix had dreams of country music and twanging guitars. He tried to be low key and hoped to get on the first flight out but Jimmy found him and shooed him out. Poor Felix never gets to go anywhere fun!!!!

Waiting

What are they waiting for?

Limeade

We are trying to get Lulu to lay off the limeade but she just won't do it! There is nothing more refreshing after a hard day of bugging Simone than to cool the throat on a nice cold limeade!
