Lazy Lounging Lizards

Jimmy is on "vacation" which for him means doing a whole bunch of chores! For the cats, this means new territory to explore, more places to lounge and more nooks to crawl into. Koof, as usual, is nestled deep into the blankets. Felix, on the other hand, is content to get his black fur all over the clean white linens.

This is how a simple cleaning project turns into a gato adventure!

Max Having an Adventure

"So funny. Girls r curious & confused about loud honking, squaking & clucking coming from other side of fence @ my sister's house. It's a VERY noisey bunch of geese & chickens. Its a test of wills btween fowl & canine. So far, goose & marley r n the lead. Go figure."

Tha-a-a-t, THAT CAT!

Who is that sexy little thing, mewing and prowling about the porch? Acting coy and playful in one moment and cocky the next?

MacRib has definitely taken to her cubby and enjoys the stake she has claimed on the porch in general. Although we have to fight off a few suitors for her food in the morning she basically has run of the front porch. With the recent sun, she has been curling up in front yard sun patches as if it was her god given right!

You go MacRib!

Tha-a-a-t! THAT CAT!

Safe To Move About the Cabin

A bright day, a little bit warmer than we have been having has caused everyone to stir a little bit more than usual. Koof was hoping to catch some Bird TV, but the birds aren't back yet. Max wanted to go outside all day, in and out, in and out.

Felix, however, well, it might as well have been a freezing cold day because all he wanted to do is curl up on the warmest blanket in town!!

Movie Night

After we finish all our chores on Friday night we set up the projector in our front room and watch a movie or two! It is a great time for us to relax after a long week and enjoy the things we were able to take off our list of things to do! Meanwhile, the cats think we have set up a bunch of warm objects (projector, DVD player, etc) and blankets for their pleasure.

If Felix's look here isn't one of complete pleasure, I don't know what is! Please note he is half on the DVD player and half off, it looks as UNCOMFORTABLE as possible but he looks pleased as punch!

Lexi and the New Jersey Birds

Apparently the Michigan Street Gatos are missing all the avian action out there. The New Jersey gatos have a handle right now on the best birds in town. Here is Lexi, the Black Radishes cousin, watching bird TV just prior to the big storm. Since this picture was taken boat loads of snow has fallen and there seems to be no end in sight. Where do the birds go when it snows???

Old Timey Rake

Look at Maxine, aka Rake, standing next to our little black beauty. Doesn't she look classy with her new hot wheels behind her? Jimmy says she will have to sit in the front seat and he will have to sit in the back! Such a spoiled, spoiled dog!

We are all gearing up for the first picnic we can take when she is complete and ready to roll.

Jacket

Jimmy left his yellow jacket on the bed today and it provided a totally new surface for the cats to claim. Felix and Lulu curled up on the new spot all afternoon. Jimmy said they didn't move for hours! Maybe they like Jimmy's smell . . .

Coleman's Cats

Old man Coleman turned out to be a wild old guy! He is the one doing our upholstery for the 1952 Chevy. More important, he has cats in his warehouse to fend off the rats! That is the job of these cute little gatos - to get rid of the rats! He said they would eat through all his rolls of fabric if the cats weren't there to control the populations of rats.

Good work Gatos!

My Shadow

We always talk about Felix as the grumpy one, the obnoxious food obsessed nut that wakes us up with dive bombing at 5:30 in the morning, the one with the fanatical "Allah" yowl while waiting to be fed. But Felix more than any of those things is my shadow. When I am home, especially during the day, he just wants to be near me. If I am typing on the computer he is either near by or ON the computer (slightly more frustrating). If I am in the bedroom he comes in there and hangs out next to me. He sleeps by my side every night. Well today I sat on the couch with my feet curled up to the side talking to my visiting Father. It was a cold morning and who comes along and curls up on my feet and stays by my side for the next hour? My shadow, Felix. As annoying as he can be, this really is an endearing trait and I have to admit, I love it!

Snow

We missed it! While Houston's greatest snow storm ever blew through at 23 degrees Jimmy and I were lounging beach side in Zihuatanejo Mexico!

Fortunately, Max got to experience it at her best friend Marley's house. Even better, they had a dog camera there and let her use it! Look at this great picture she took!

Later, Marley's people took some good ones of the dogs.

Doesn't Max look great in white?

Later they came in and warmed up from the Great Snow of 2009. Ha ha Mom and Dad, you missed it!!!!

Witty Woo

I am probably destroying the poor girls name, but Witty Woo is an important part of our experience with Marley and her people. She is always up to antics and she's good for a story about her comings and goings anytime.

Unlike our cats, she is an outdoor cat so the scope of her adventure is much greater. A point which is not lost on Ms W. This picture says it all!

Maxine Gets a Slumber Party

While we were in Mexico for Jimmy's sister Linda's wedding, Maxine was at the spa, having massages, running in snow, curling up with her pal Marley and her new friend Witty. I hope I am spelling her name right! These are some pictures from their amazing time together.

This is a great picture of Marley! It captures at once her dignity and her goofiness. I love it!

Two Cats and a Gremlin

I love this picture! This little gremlin gives me great joy in the kitchen. It was great to see the gatos enjoy him too! (Actually, they are enjoying the open window and cool air).

MacRib's Box

Since the weather is quickly getting colder Jimmy constructed a little cat house for MacRib. He thought perhaps Lulu should test it out first to make sure it was truly cat friendly. She seemed to like it just fine!

So does MacRib! I haven't caught a picture of her in it yet but she can often be caught getting cozy in her little home.

Yoga

The cats love when the yoga mat comes out! Although it is not very meditative the whole time I do my work they love to argue about who gets what part of the mat.

Sometimes I am in a pose holding it and come down to a gato right underneath my leg! That is about to happen to Felix here after this picture was taken. It is pretty funny, although not always that relaxing!

Lulu likes to jump on the mat right as I am rolling up the mat!

Felix and the Oasis

Marley for Thanksgiving

Marley came over the weekend after Thanksgiving and they played a lot in the back yard. These are action photos taken from my new phone. It took me some time to figure out how to get them from the phone to the
computer even though the iPeople make it pretty fool proof!
