Maxine Aces the Interview

Maxine had a very exciting day. Since moving to California she has had to deal with loss and change. I will not say it's been easy for her but she has been courageous and strong. On top of all the change she now finds herself in apartment living, not ad fun as Marleys place with her and her big back yard!

This week my cousin Rachel started coming over to hang with her and the cats on Tuesday and Thursday. That has been a big help.

Today she had an "interview" (evaluation) to attend a highly recommended doggie daycare called Planet Pooch. She went into a little "living room" and was introduced to five dogs, one at a time. She was scared with her tail deep below her legs. But she used her words appropriately, telling the other dogs to back off when she wasn't comfortable (bearing her teeth and giving a low growl). She never snapped or bit. Once she passed that she moved into a day care setting with other dogs playing around, running, sniffing. By the end of her time she was cautiously engaging and most important she passed and is allowed to attend!


I have a lot to share about the place and the wonderful people ( and dogs) but I am writing this on an iPhone. Suffice to say they have a large outside lawn (enclosed) and a separate enclosed area filled with sand. It will be perfect for digging a hole to China.
