Felix is a Little Helper

See how Felix helps Kasumi clean and eat lunch?

Cricket's New Toy

Scarfing this Morning

I separated everyone into their own dining cars this morning to see if Cricket would eat a full breakfast. She did!

Sheepish

Can you name that gato?

Yellow Rose

Afternoon Sunshine

Everyone finally settled down together to enjoy the last of the afternoon sunshine.

Lurking

As Cricket explored the house, Felix was lurking in the back ground. They had a few nose to nose encounters and no hissing. I considered it a very successful afternoon!

Cricket's Sun Spot

Yesterday after Cricket did some exploring she found a few great sun spots to get some rays. This one invited a few guests to swing by since she was parked right by the water bowl.

Sun Spot

Bypassing the System

This is Cricket watching a squirrel seriously bypassing the system! He has edged the bird feeder close to the fence so he can basically sit there and fill his belly! Cricket is riveted!

Laundry Day

Can you find two cats in this picture?

Felix

Felix is the one having the most friction with Cricket. They are easing into their relationship though. Last night I had Cricket on one side of me and Felix on the other. He has seemed to need a little more of my attention. Today while I was getting ready he was all up in my grill. Eventually I let him up on my shoulder and it seemed to do the trick. I think this is a pretty cool picture and a great example of what a nut Felix is. He stays up there while I walk around a get ready in the morning.

Cricket and Max

Many of you may be wondering how Cricket is doing with Maxine. Here is a great example of how its going! They seem to be perfectly comfortable with one another. In this picture they are practically snuggling with one another!

A Bunch of Lazies!

This is a great picture of Felix and Lulu doing absolutely nothing! These lazies are hanging out as high up as they can perch. Far from Cricket and her earth bound ways. She is no doubt chilling on the bed, under the desk or in her box.

Cricket

Cricket gets her new collar! Cricket loves the bed and being with us in the bed. It is amazing, she can actually lift herself on the bed using her arms. She likes to nuzzle close to us.

She does NOT like Felix in her space. So far, she and Lulu are neutral toward one another but she is threatened by Felix. We don't see him doing anything visibly threatening but in their own feline world there is more going on than meets the eye.
You can see Cricket's smart new collar on her! Also notice she has a little white spot (called an angel's kiss) on her chest and on her tail.

Nemesis

Felix ponders his new nemesis: Cricket.

Maxine in the Sun with Kasumi

Maxine has a new pal on Monroe Street. Kasumi will be spending time with the gatolinos and Max (hopefully) two times per week. This is a great picture she took of Maxine yesterday after she came home from Fort Funston!

Felix Figures it Out

Felix has already figured out, or suspects, there is a cat in the bedroom. This is where I have to stay diligent and pretend I have no idea what he is getting worked up about.

Oblivious

We are enjoying the front room together, Felix and Lulu oblivious to Cricket. Max is snoring away on the couch.

Cricket on the Move

If you want to see Cricket on the move, check out this video of her exploring her new home.

Cricket Joins the Gang

Cricket comes to us from the Nine Lives Foundation of Redwood City. Her introduction card says, "Allie (aka Cricket) is a beautiful little black girl with white on her chest and the tip of her tail. Little Allie is missing a rear leg but you won't hear any complaining from her! She bounces around the house just fine although she would appreciate a little ramp to get up on the bed. She might like to go outside for a nice nap in the sun as long as she had a safe fenced-in yard. On cold nights she likes to crawl under the covers next to you - a vest improvement over a hot water bottle or an electric blanket! Allie does fine with other cars or she could do well by herself as long as she had a home with someone who would be around for a fair amount of time. Since she is such a social girl she would be lonely if left by herself for long periods of time."

I think our home fits the bill! Now we have to go through the slow process of getting the Black Radishes on board with the new little kitty. They recommend a slow introduction, lots of special treats for the home cats and affirmation of everyones place in the family.

Preparing for Cricket

First step in the introduction between Cricket, our new kitty, and Felix and Lulu is to bring her in without them knowing. I came in, got the litter box and water, set up her room and then bribed them into the kitchen with a little afternoon snack (a rare treat). While they were filling their bellies I snuck Cricket into the Master bedroom. Details to follow!

Memory Foam

I made three new cat beds awhile back and was questioning who was utilizing them yesterday. Here is Felix on top of the sheet music drawers sitting on top of one of the memory foam cat beds.

Maxine Barks at the Pizza

Maxine has a new predilection for snacks. When they are cooling she decides to bark at them, hoping they will magically enter her mouth.
